Sophos sales soar 205% following industry turmoil
50% of new business comes from Network Associates/Dr Solomon's
Sophos has announced a 205% increase in new UK business following an analysis of its first quarter figures. The record rise is in part due to customers unhappy with the quality of product and support they are receiving from other anti-virus vendors, following a period of industry turmoil.
Over half of new orders are from users dissatisfied with the service they were receiving from Network Associates (who took over Dr Solomon's Software last year). Further customers have signed up with Sophos following the withdrawal of anti-virus products from other vendors, including IBM and Intel.
Sophos has found that its first class technical support has had a key influence on its new business figures. Sophos customers can be assured of speaking to a technical expert around the clock.
Secure Networks, a reseller, is one of many who have decided to supply Sophos Anti-Virus to its customers in the future.
"Customers are demanding an anti-virus product that works reliably, with timely updates and quality technical support," said Steve Clack, managing director of Secure Networks. "Sophos is not only the best at detecting viruses, it's also the best at providing assistance to customers in trouble - anytime day or night. As we expected, it has proved to be a sensible choice."
"The response from channel resellers and corporate clients this year has been overwhelming," said David Stanley, UK sales manager at Sophos. "Users are recognising that a specialist is required for anti-virus protection. Sophos is now recognised as the best option in terms of service and product, reflected in our terrific start to the year."
