KPMG chooses Sophos to provide global virus protection

Sophos, the world leader in network-based anti-virus solutions, announces its provision of anti-virus protection for KPMG International's worldwide email system.

KPMG will use Sophos's unique API, SAVI (Sophos Anti-Virus Interface), which allows third-party products to call straight into Sophos's world-renowned virus engine.

"KPMG decided upon Sophos Anti-Virus as its Internet mail virus protection software of choice because Sophos Anti-Virus integrates seamlessly with our email systems. Its performance ensures that it provides top level protection, without impacting on email delivery times," said Stephen Pike, senior manager of Global Vendor Management at KPMG. "This combination of speed and security is critical for our organisation, where email is now a key communication mechanism."

"We are very pleased to be providing KPMG with our anti-virus services," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos Anti-Virus. "We specifically designed the SAVI API to allow integration with in-house solutions. This contract is the latest in a string of enterprise-wide deals that vindicate that decision." Under this two year licence agreement, email for all of KPMG's users worldwide will be virus checked by Sophos Anti-Virus.
