Sophos to provide University of Arizona with anti-virus protection campus-wide

Sophos Anti-Virus selected by one of the nation's top ranked research universities

Wakefield, MA - Sophos, the world leader in corporate anti-virus solutions, today announced that the University of Arizona, one of the top ranked research universities in the nation, has signed a three year unlimited campus wide license agreement. The agreement will allow all faculty, staff, and students to be protected by Sophos Anti-Virus both on campus and at home.

After a thorough three-month evaluation, the university's Center for Computing and Information Technology (CCIT), chose Sophos Anti-Virus over NAI and Symantec as the product that best fit the university's heterogeneous network requirements. "We were looking for a campus-wide anti-virus solution that would meet our technical specifications and provide the most extensive virus protection for all faculty, staff, and students," said Bruce Paulson, director of CCIT. "Sophos delivered with attractive academic pricing/licensing terms, superior technical performance, and diverse multi-platform support."

"We are delighted that the University of Arizona has selected Sophos Anti-Virus to protect its entire campus. The service and support that Sophos provides is unmatched and is certainly recognized," said Richard Jacobs, president of Sophos, Inc. Thousands of respected schools, universities and colleges worldwide, are using Sophos Anti-Virus and each receives licenses tailored for their cross-platform environments."
