Sophos Anti-Virus receives West Coast Checkmark for 100% detection of in-the-wild viruses

Sophos announced today that its product has once again achieved West Coast Labs Checkmark certification.
Sophos Anti-Virus version 3.45 for Windows 95/98, Sophos Anti-Virus version 3.45 for NetWare and Sophos Anti-Virus version 3.45 for Windows NT server have again successfully been awarded Anti-Virus Checkmark level 1, providing further proof that Sophos is capable of detecting all known 'in-the-wild' viruses in both on-demand and on-access modes.
The Checkmark system has been developed by West Coast Labs, an independent research and test centre. It provides a reliable means of authenticating those products which users can consistently rely upon to provide the highest quality anti-virus solutions.
"Sophos Anti-Virus has been protecting businesses for over 10 years against the virus threat," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos. We are regularly accredited by competent bodies such as the ICSA, Virus Bulletin and West Coast Labs for our superb virus protection capabilities."
