WWF goes wild around the world for Sophos Anti-Virus

Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, announced today that it has been selected by WWF - the global environment network (formerly the World Wildlife Fund) - to defend its offices around the world from computer viruses.
Under the new licence all WWF sites will be able to install Sophos's award-winning solution, building on the successful deployment of Sophos Anti-Virus in 16 locations throughout the UK.
"It is essential that all of our offices are able to communicate effectively and that the data we hold is not compromised," said David Southern, GTS Project Manager and Head of UK IT at WWF. "Our priorities include fast and effective protection combined with accessible technical support. Of the several solutions we evaluated, Sophos best fulfilled these needs."
WWF's Global Technology Service (GTS) currently has 19 member operations with 30 locations and the WWF is active in a total of 52 countries. The organisation's computer networks link over 50 international sites across five continents and store vital information about members, endangered species and environmental research. Protecting these records is crucial, meaning that a reliable and efficient anti-virus solution is a must.
