Sophos Anti-Virus for Unix detects all in-the-wild viruses in Virus Bulletin tests

Virus Bulletin

Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, today announced that the detection rate of Sophos Anti-Virus for Unix has been confirmed in independent tests by Virus Bulletin, the international publication on computer virus prevention, recognition and removal. The Sophos on-demand scanner detected all in-the-wild viruses in tests published in the April 2002 edition of the magazine.

Virus Bulletin tested 11 different anti-virus products under the Linux platform for their detection rates, lack of false alarms, and speed of scanning. Sophos not only detected all the in-the-wild virus samples it was tested against, but also came out with a perfect score in the false alarm test.

Sophos Anti-Virus uses the same virus-finding engine in all of its products, ensuring a similarly high detection rate across all platforms.

The full review can be read in the April 2002 edition of Virus Bulletin.
