Sophos to provide University of California campuses with anti-virus protection

Lynnfield, MA - Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus solutions, today announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with the University of California to provide desktop, server and gateway virus protection for up to 100,000 users at a number of its campuses.

"UC has a multi-vendor environment for anti-virus protection," said Jane Schoenfeld of the University of California's Office of the President. "As part of that environment, we selected Sophos solutions that would meet our technical specifications and provide comprehensive virus protection for faculty, staff, and students. Sophos provides attractive academic pricing/licensing terms, good technical performance and diverse, multi-platform support."

The campuses that will implement Sophos's anti-virus solutions so far include: UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, UC San Francisco, UCLA and the UC Office of the President.
