Sophos virus expert to address Gartner Sector 5 Summit

Sector 5 Summit

Lynnfield, MA - Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, announced today that Richard Jacobs, Sophos's technical director, will be discussing internet security at Gartner's Sector 5 event, which takes place in Washington D.C. from the 21st until the 23rd of August.

At the event, titled 'The Global Summit Exploring Cyber Terrorism and the Targets of Critical Infrastructure', Jacobs will be providing practical advice on the computer virus threat, including effective protection and recovery.

Richard Jacobs will be participating in the panel discussion on 'Viruses and Forensics'. He will be focusing on how to prevent breaches as a result of malicious code and what should be done if security defenses are infiltrated. This session will take place on Thursday, August 22, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDT.

"Cooperation and the discussion of new initiatives forms an important part of the search for methods of virus prevention," said Jacobs. "Corporations are increasingly concerned not only with protecting their networks but also with ensuring that they have an effective plan of action should the worst happen. Addressing both of these areas is crucial to making progress in the fight against malicious attacks."
