Sophos keeps Eddie Stobart Ltd on the right road with anti-virus overhaul

Eddie Stobart Ltd

Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, has been chosen by Eddie Stobart Ltd to protect the company's corporate network against virus attack. Eddie Stobart Ltd, Britain's largest independent haulage and distribution organisation, will rely on Sophos to defend its entire operation against over 75,000 viruses, Trojans and worms, in addition to the hundreds of new viruses emerging each month.

Eddie Stobart Ltd will deploy Sophos's certified virus protection on servers and desktops and at the email gateway. Additionally, the deployment of Sophos's Enterprise Manager will ensure that the company is constantly updated with the latest virus protection files and updates to the software itself. The agreement was completed in conjunction with Softcat, one of Sophos's most successful channel partners.

"We were looking for an anti-virus solution capable of addressing all our security needs," said David Mossop, technical systems manager at Eddie Stobart Ltd. "Sophos not only provides unrivalled detection rates but can also deliver rapid protection against the latest threats. This combines with a high level of service and ease of management to create a superb package."

"With the increasing complexity of new viruses, companies are rightly demanding more and more from their security vendors," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos. "It is no longer enough for vendors to specialise in one area and be moderate in others - they have to provide excellence across the board. This agreement is a powerful endorsement of the all round strengths of Sophos's enterprise products."
