Sophos and CipherTrust secure Specsavers' email systems
Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, and CipherTrust, Inc., providers of the industry's first security appliance for email, today announced that they have been selected by Specsavers Opticians to defend 10,000 computer users against malicious viruses, Trojan horses and worms. CipherTrust's IronMail solution has been deployed by Specsavers Opticians, the UK's biggest optical retailer, to protect against hacking, ensure messages are transmitted privately and provide virus protection powered by Sophos.
All Specsavers Opticians stores in the UK, Ireland and Holland are now protected by IronMail.
"We opted for IronMail as it was the only product capable of delivering a total email security solution," said Nigel Spain, technology services manager at Specsavers Opticians. "An important part of that was the ability to effectively protect our data against virus infection. Viruses have a severe effect on thousands of businesses both in terms of financial loss and damaged credibility - we are determined not to become one of them."
CipherTrust's IronMail appliance - incorporating Sophos's technology - has been designed to be a complete security solution providing protection for both email servers and email messages.
