Sophos PureMessage has achieved remarkable results in detailed tests conducted in the latest edition of Mreza, Croatia's top computer magazine.

The independent tests conducted by Mreza concentrated on Sophos PureMessage's capability to defend against spam, as Sophos's virus protection technology is well known and has often been confirmed by all of the leading industry testing bodies.

PureMessage's performance against spam were described as "phenomenal" achieving detection rates of 98.48% when pitted against over 31,000 spam messages. It is important to remember that these remarkable results were for the product being tested in its "out-of-the-box" configuration. With additional configuration of the product and enabling of the Bayesian filter in a real-life scenario the results would be even more impressive.

The Mreza test also commented on the impressively low false alarm rate.

"In conclusion, we have been extremely satisfied with this program's spam detection. It places PureMessage at the very top of the market's current offering. In addition to detection, PureMessage implements various configuration features and extension possibilities that should satisfy even the most demanding among the administrators," said the magazine.

Mreza described Sophos PureMessage as "the true leader of all of today's anti-virus and anti-spam solutions" and gave the product the coveted "Mreza Recommended" award.

Sophos PureMessage supports Linux, Sun Solaris SPARC, HP-UX, FreeBSD, AIX on RISC, Windows 2000/2003/XP Professional, Exchange 2000/2003 and Microsoft IIS systems. A small business version for Exchange 2000/2003 and Microsoft IIS is also available.
