Sophos joins Microsoft SecureIT Alliance

Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against viruses, Trojans, spyware and spam, has announced its membership of Microsoft's SecureIT Alliance, an industry initiative designed to help improve security for businesses running Microsoft operating systems.
As part of the Alliance, Sophos will collaborate with other SecureIT members in building new shared technologies to combat the growing number of IT security threats faced by businesses worldwide. Sophos will also work to improve integration and interoperability between existing security solutions, easing the workload for network administrators currently running software from different alliance members.
"Security is an issue that affects everyone involved in IT, and the SecureIT Alliance will allow the industry to join forces and work towards providing a better customer experience," said Mark Harris, global director of SophosLabs™. "By exchanging our development expertise with other alliance members, we will be able to offer improved security solutions for all our Windows-based customers."
The SecureIT Alliance is developing a community website (www.secureitalliance.org), which will enable ongoing communication between members during the development process of Windows applications. The site will also be available to the public, helping users address their security needs by accessing security-related information in a number of formats, including white papers, case studies, videos, and presentations.
