Sophos appoints new Corporate Field Marketing Manager Former McAfee executive Seán Glynn joins Sophos

Seán Glynn has been appointed Corporate Field Marketing Manager at Sophos.
Sophos, a world leader in IT Security, has appointed Seán Glynn as corporate field marketing manager. Based at the company's headquarters in Oxfordshire, UK, Glynn will work with Sophos's nine offices around the world to coordinate the development and delivery of globally integrated marketing programs, including customer and market analysis, demand generation, channel initiatives and strategic planning.
35-year-old Glynn joins Sophos from McAfee where he managed marketing and business development for its EMEA support services portfolio. With more than twelve years experience within the IT industry, Glynn has a proven track record of developing worldwide marketing initiatives aimed at both customers and channel partners. Prior to joining McAfee, he also held senior sales, marketing and business development positions at Dell, Compaq and BMC Software and has gained considerable experience in both the North American and European markets.
"Sophos has a first-class reputation for being a technical leader in the IT security industry and is perfectly positioned to further increase its global market share," said Seán Glynn, new corporate field marketing manager. "Sophos's financial successes are based on well designed products and excellent customer support so I am delighted to be a part of its continuing international success and look forward to working with the offices to coordinate and monitor global marketing efforts."
Glynn will work with regional sales and marketing personnel to implement centrally developed campaigns and monitor the success of each activity at a local level. He will also measure the effectiveness of campaigns, enabling Sophos to optimise future investment in marketing strategies.
"Seán brings a global perspective to Sophos, having gained significant experience in both the North American and European IT markets," said Jan Jivmark, director of corporate marketing at Sophos. "To maintain our competitive edge, it is vital that we have high levels of brand awareness across the world and that marketing campaigns are consistent and measured. Seán's track record at blue chip IT firms means he is the ideal candidate to ensure our global marketing operations have a single focus."
