Sophos releases new version of PureMessage for Notes/Domino
![]() |
Sophos, a world leader in IT security, has released a new version of its product for Lotus Notes/Domino servers, providing proactive protection against email threats.
Sophos PureMessage for Notes/Domino protects Lotus Domino servers from viruses, spyware, Trojans and worms, and other unwanted file types – preventing any malware from entering and spreading across the network. Genotype technology and Behavioral Genotype Protection guard against families of viruses and zero day threats.
The solution protects both Notes mailboxes and databases and enables the administrator to create rules to block or quarantine messages based on file type or size, and keyword analysis. Email disclaimers can be added to the top or bottom of emails. Management is handled through the familiar Lotus Notes client and provides comprehensive alerting, quarantine and reporting features.
Key features of the new version of PureMessage for Notes/Domino include:
- Support for Windows-based Domino R6 and R7
- True file type attachment blocking
- Disclaimer management module - legal disclaimers and branding messages can be added to the headers and footers of outbound email.
- Integration with Domino directory services
- Support for clustered Domino installations
"Malicious and unsolicited emails can pose a significant threat to businesses, and system administrators want to minimize disruption to their corporate network," said John Stringer, product manager at Sophos. "Sophos PureMessage for Notes/Domino has been proven to help protect corporate networks from the threats posed by viruses, spyware and spam."

Existing users of MailMonitor for Notes/Domino customers can upgrade for free to PureMessage for Notes/Domino.
- USA number 1 for malware and spam
- Huge surge in email attachment attacks
