Softchoice named Sophos its 2007 Rising Star.

IT security and control firm Sophos announced that Premium Channel Partner, Softchoice Corp. (TSX: SO), one of North America's foremost providers of technology solutions and services, named Sophos as its 2007 Rising Star at its 2008 Sales Launch Award’s Dinner in January. Sophos was acknowledged for being a leading vendor for combined sales engagement, growth, and channel alignment.

Softchoice recognized only four vendors for exceptional performance and partnership in the annual vendor awards this year, including Microsoft, HP, EqualLogic, and Sophos.

To be nominated for the Rising Star award, a vendor must drive explosive growth with Softchoice in 2006 in North America, have actively participated in integrated sales and marketing programs in 2007 and demonstrate a commitment to supporting Softchoice’s sales representatives in working with customers at a local level in more than 40 markets across North America.

"Sophos has done a phenomenal job of engaging at all levels of the Softchoice organization, from the President and CEO, to members of the senior management team, district, regional and branch managers, and most importantly, with our sales force in the marketplace," said Steve Leslie, Senior Vice President at Softchoice.

"We are very excited to have been recognized as a top partner among other companies that are widely recognized as leaders in the industry - it’s truly a strong endorsement for Softchoice’s commitment to our partner program," said Chris Doggett, director of channel sales, North America at Sophos.

In April 2007, Sophos adopted a 100 percent channel model to ensure Sophos’s continued rapid growth in North America and the success of its partners’ security businesses. In the past year, more than 70 percent of all sales in North America were procured through the company’s channel partners.
