Sophos appoints new UK sales and marketing director

Stuart Small

Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against viruses and spam, has appointed Stuart Small as UK sales and marketing director. Based at the company's headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, Stuart will lead the sales and marketing teams in growing Sophos UK's market share via its established channel partners.

Stuart joins Sophos from Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) where he was UK sales director. Responsible for developing the company's routes to market, including re-engineering its channel business, his efforts were rewarded with the doubling of D&B's channel business turnover in an 18-month period. Stuart has also held positions at a raft of leading technology companies, including Reuters, Siemens, ECS and OneSource.

"As the leader for our UK sales and marketing efforts, Stuart will help Sophos hit its growth objectives while ensuring his teams are both happy and focused," said Dr Jan Hruska, CEO and co-founder of Sophos. "With his wealth of experience in the high-tech industry, Stuart is well placed to maintain our impressive momentum, further bolstering our presence in computer security market."

"I knew of Sophos by reputation: its financial successes, its high-quality products and its first-class customer service," said Stuart Small. "I'm looking forward to the challenge of building upon the company's brand-awareness and, by further strengthening our excellent channel relationships, boosting our sales in both the enterprise and small business sectors."
